Graham Murtough (b. 1975) has developed a unique fine art practice with a focus on materials, nature, abstraction and a sense of space. He graduated from the MA program at City and Guilds of London Art School in 2016, where he won the Outstanding Exhibition award for The Relative Value of Convention II. In 2017 he was featured in the group exhibition Exceptional at Collyer Bristow Gallery in London and was awarded High Commendation by Whitechapel Gallery Director, Iwona Blazwick.
After residencies in Iceland and Norway, he spent several years exploring the Pacific Northwest of the United States and revisiting his early ties to the Santa Fe Art community. His practice is inherently transient and benefits from having multiple locales of origin. After two years living and working in Los Angeles, he has returned to Santa Fe for an extended time, nurturing his studio practice in the Baca Street Railyard.
